S&N Summit brings together around 200 IT leaders from the financial sector and public sector in Paderborn
28.08.2026

Around 200 customers, partners, and employees came together at the end of July for the S&N Summit 2026 at Zukunftsmeile 2 in Paderborn. Among the guests were representatives from banks, insurance companies, and other financial service providers as well as public institutions. At the center of the specialist event hosted by the Paderborn-based S&N Group were key future questions for IT: How is artificial intelligence changing software development? How can the financial sector and public sector secure their digital sovereignty? And how can established IT landscapes be made fit for the future? In keynotes, specialist presentations, and workshops, participants discussed current technological developments, concrete practical experience, and new solution approaches.
The opening was provided by Dr. Stephan Weber from ibi research with his keynote “Big Picture of Payment Transactions – Strategic Perspectives for Banks.” He showed which technological and regulatory developments are currently shaping payment transactions and the financial sector, and what strategic decisions arise from this for banks.
How artificial intelligence is already changing software development today was then demonstrated by Dr. Ivan Jovanovikj, Dr. Baris Güldali, and Alexander Grigat from S&N Invent. Under the title “From Hype to Everyday – Our Core Process in Transformation with AI as a Game Changer,” they provided insights into the productive use of AI throughout the software development process and showed how technological possibilities become concrete applications in everyday work.
Another focus area was the topic of digital sovereignty. Daniel Trott from the Schwarz Group, together with Simon Merschjohann and Juri Urbainczyk from S&N Invent, examined why control over data, technologies, and digital infrastructures is increasingly becoming a strategic question for the financial sector and the public sector. In their keynote “Digital Sovereignty – Strategic Imperative and Current Challenge,” they discussed current dependencies and possible paths to more resilient digital structures.
From Agentic AI to Post-Quantum Cryptography
Beyond the keynotes, the S&N Summit offered a broad professional program in four parallel topic streams. The focus included agentic AI, digital sovereignty, post-quantum cryptography, and the modernization of established IT landscapes. Specialist presentations, workshops, and practical sessions showed not only technological developments, but above all concrete use cases and experience from customer projects.
Personal exchange between customers, partners, technology experts, and employees formed another focus of the Summit. At the center was not technology for its own sake, but rather the question of how it can be concretely deployed to solve complex challenges and create digital future readiness.
We are particularly pleased that with the S&N Summit we are bringing together around 200 people here in Paderborn, including representatives from banks, insurance companies, and public institutions. Paderborn has been the central location of our corporate group for 35 years. With the Summit, we are creating a venue here for exchange about technological developments and the concrete challenges our customers face today.
