S&N Invent develops digital application for inclusive St. Christophorus Kindergarten
After the iPad donation in spring, S&N Invent, together with the inclusive St. Christophorus Kindergarten in Paderborn-Sennelager, implemented a special follow-up project: the development of a puzzle app that is used specifically in therapeutic sessions.

From idea to app: Digital support for therapy and development support
Even when the iPads were handed over, it was clear that the commitment should go beyond a simple donation in kind. Together with the kindergarten’s therapists, the idea emerged to develop an application that combines playful learning with targeted development support. The Kita team’s wish: a simple, child-friendly app that strengthens motor skills, promotes concentration, and can be individually adapted to the children’s abilities. It quickly became clear that a puzzle app offers exactly these possibilities.
Real photos from everyday kindergarten life as motivation
The application was developed as a Progressive Web App (PWA) by three students from the Professional Education area at S&N Invent. A special highlight: the puzzle motifs consist of real photos from everyday kindergarten life. This allows the children to recognize familiar faces, play situations, and rooms – a strong motivational factor that creates joy and a sense of closeness.
The app offers different difficulty levels and can therefore be individually adapted to the children’s abilities. In future, it will be used as part of speech and occupational therapy and will complement the digital learning offerings already in place.

Digital inclusion as a lived mission
The project shows how digital technologies can specifically contribute to the inclusion and development support of children with particular support needs. In addition to the new puzzle app, the iPads also use applications such as MetaTalk, which make communication easier through symbols and images and help children actively participate in group activities.
S&N Invent would like to continue this social commitment in the long term. Together with the Kita team, existing apps are to be further developed and new applications created that address the children’s individual needs even better.

A project with sustainable impact
“It was important to us that our support creates real added value in the children’s everyday lives. The puzzle app is a great example of how technology and empathy can go hand in hand.”
Matthew Langham, Training Manager at S&N Invent.
